The IASLC Adi F. Gazdar Fellowship Grant (Fellowship) funds the training of research fellows who wish to pursue careers in lung cancer diagnosis, treatment, or laboratory research as well as other aspects of the study of lung tumors. The committee aims to select one applicant from each of these regions: Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America & Developing Countries (as defined by World Bank), and Australia/Rest of World. Applications must be within the scope of the following funding priorities to be considered: the etiology, epidemiology, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and all other aspects of lung cancer and thoracic malignancies. Funding IASLC Fellowships are in the amount of USD 50,000 and are intended to fund projects that can be completed in a one-year timeframe. Funds may be used at the discretion of the recipient for salary, fringe benefits, conference registration, travel, consumables, and other necessary expenses to facilitate his or her research.Eligibility

At the time of application, the applicant must meet all these requirements:Fellowship candidates must be at the post-doctoral level.The candidate must be a MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD (or equivalent) in fellowship training or its equivalent for the duration of the grant funding. Reference the grant timeline to ensure you and your proposed project adhere to the guidelines.Postdoctoral researchers from non-profit institutions (including academic and governmental institutions) are eligible to apply. Researchers from for-profit institutions will not be considered.Fellowship candidates must be mentored by a Principal Investigator who agrees to supervise the candidate and project if selected.The work proposed by the fellow must be conducted at the Principal Investigator’s institution.Both the Fellowship Grant Candidate and the Principal Investigator must be members of the IASLC.The Principal Investigator may support only one candidate per application cycle. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. IASLC membership is required for the duration of the Fellowship.Ineligibility
