NOTE: Huntington’s grant program requires an invitation from a Huntington Community representative to apply. Huntington remains interested in exploring new partnerships and supporting innovative programs aligned to our giving pillars. Mission Huntington has a 150-year history of strong community involvement and supportive civic leadership. We believe that developing relationships and investing in local nonprofit/charitable organizations builds healthy and vibrant communities. Consistent with our purpose, we support charitable programs and initiatives that seek to improve self-sufficiency and quality of life as well as advance social and economic equality in the communities served by Huntington. Focus Areas Requests for programmatic support will be considered from all organizations with the appropriate Internal Revenue Service tax-exempt designation (501c3 or 170c1) serving communities located within Huntington’s footprint. Huntington’s focuses on the critical areas of impact illustrated below. Additionally, Huntington is committed to supporting racial and social equity programs with a demonstrated commitment to equitable actions that contribute to fairness, justice, and equality for all people. Requests for funding which fall outside the focus areas will be considered when Huntington’s local executives identify alignment with community needs. Community Revitalization and Stabilization Activities in low- or moderate income (LMI) areas, designated disaster areas, or underserved or distressed geographies. Examples include initiatives that: Attract or retain business and residents Create, retain, or improve jobs for LMI individuals Support government plans for community or neighborhood redevelopment or revitalization Community Services Activities where 50% or more of those served are low- and moderate-income. Examples include programs in the following areas: Financial empowerment Food security Digital inclusion Youth programs Homeless shelters, transitional and permanent housing Domestic violence shelters Addiction recovery centers Affordable Housing Activities that provide access to affordable housing options for low- and moderate-income individuals and families. Access to capital Homebuyer education Credit counseling Low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) Rental subsidies Economic and Community Development Activities assisting low- and moderate-income individuals and families and small businesses or farms. Economic and Community Development activities may include: Small Business – access to capital Workforce development / job training Permanent job creation or retentionEligibility
