HRCCU College Scholarship Program

Funder: Hudson River Community Credit Union (HRCCU)

Mission: Awards local, college-bound high school graduates with scholarships to help relieve financial burden of paying for college.

Geographic Scope

• Service Area: Saratoga, Warren, Washington, and Rensselaer counties, plus the Towns of Cohoes, Watervliet, and Green Island in Upstate New York

Award Details

• Amount: $1,000 per scholarship
• Number of Awards: Three (3) scholarships awarded annually
• Use of Funds: To offset costs of studying at a 2-year or 4-year college or university

Eligibility

• Must be a local high school senior
• Must be college-bound
• Academic excellence required
• Community involvement/volunteer service preferred
• Must demonstrate commitment to giving back to communities after college graduation

Selection Criteria

• 100-point scoring system
• Academic performance
• School and community activities/involvement
• Volunteer service in local charitable groups
• Essay quality on plans to give back to communities post-college
