Focus Areas:
The Institute seeks to sponsor dissertation grants to advance home care and hospice and improve care delivery at home through quality and innovation. Projects must focus on at least one of the following areas:

Home health

Home-based hospice and palliative care

Home and community-based care

Priority Topics (non-exclusive):

Workforce

Rural Health

Patient Access to Home Care

Virtual Care

Disease-specific Innovation

Any and all payer types

Eligibility:

Doctoral (PhD) students who have defended their dissertation proposals

Must have passed oral exams

Funding to complete dissertation work in home care

Award Details:

Maximum per grant: $10,000

Number of projects: Up to three projects may be funded from the 2026 announcement

Objective: To further home care research as it pertains to current challenges facing healthcare delivery and critical areas of need in the future. Topics must be consistent with the Institute's mission of expanding and improving access to and delivery of health care in the home by informing policy and identifying best practices and patient care models.
