Overview: An exclusive, highly competitive entry-level talent-development initiative for college students and recent graduates aligned with MPI's vision of promoting freedom in film.

Program Details:

Acceptance Rate: Approximately 1% of applicants accepted

Placement: Internships at production houses and on the sets of MPI Original Films

Experience: Invaluable industry exposure and hands-on experience

Cohort Size: 2024 had 13 interns (largest class to date)

Components:

Summer Intern Summit: Orientation introducing interns to MPI's filmmaker network and industry expert insights

Freedom + Film Summer Series: Virtual weekly seminar covering:

- Effecting change through film
- Analyzing scripts for freedom themes
- Working with talent representatives
- Distributing freedom-focused projects
- Industry-specific job-hunting strategies

Academy Gold Rising Program: Selected interns receive specialized mentorship from Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences members with training in chosen filmmaking area

Academy Programming Access: Curated panels, private screenings, networking opportunities, studio tours, educational workshops

Partner Companies: 2024 partners include Millennium Media, AMGI, Watch This Ready Productions, and RPM Talent

Eligibility: Freedom-minded college students and recent graduates aspiring to enter the film industry
