  • In special circumstances, may be presented to faculty members or administrators who exemplify the spirit of Ho Din through service to humanity

  • History: Established in 1943 at the first Board of Trustees meeting of Southwestern Medical College. The award has been given for 75+ years. The Ho Din represents "the spirit of medical wisdom and human understanding" and is the foremost honor bestowed on outstanding seniors at UT Southwestern. Notable recipients include Dr. Joseph L. Goldstein (1966), who later received the 1985 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine.
