Hiring Incentive Training Grant (HITG)

Program: Part of Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund (WTF)

Administering Agency: Massachusetts state fund

Geographic Scope: Massachusetts

Purpose: Provide cash grants to employers to hire Massachusetts residents who have been unemployed for 6+ months or military veterans (regardless of unemployment length).

Eligible Applicants:

  • Massachusetts businesses/employers
  • Award Details:

  • Per New Hire: $5,000

  • Annual Maximum: $75,000 per calendar year per employer
  • Requirements:

  • New hire must retain employment for minimum 120 days to receive payment

  • "New Hire Trainee" must earn minimum $2,500 (gross earnings) during 120-day retention period
  • Policy Changes: Effective August 15, 2014
