Program Overview
Luthecare is committed to supporting the education of future healthcare professionals. The Nursing Scholarship Program offers scholarships to local high school seniors planning to pursue a nursing degree.- High school seniors from public, private, nonpublic, and homeschool in eligible counties
- Must plan to pursue a nursing degree
- Eligible high schools include: Manheim Township, Manheim Central, Columbia High, Lebanon High, ELCO High, Cedar Crest, and Warwick
- One $1,000 scholarship per eligible school
Eligibility
- Program began in 2009 for Luthercare team members
- Extended to local high school students in 2020 due to COVID-19 impact on nursing field
- As of 2020, has distributed $115,000 in scholarships to 83 high school students

How to Apply
Application Requirements
1. Complete Application Form
- Available on Luthercare website
- Submit via online portal or mail
2. Essay (Required)
- Maximum 750 words
- Describe why applicant should receive the scholarship
- Explain interest in the field of nursing
3. Letters of Recommendation (Two required)
- One from a teacher, coach, mentor, or similar professional
- One from a community member
4. Submission Method

- Application Deadline: April 2 (annually)
- Applications accepted through early April each year
- Recipients announced by June
