Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Wildfire Relief Fund

Geographic Scope: San Miguel and Mora Counties, New Mexico (areas affected by the Hermit's Peak/Calf Canyon Fire)

Purpose:

• Provide grants to organizations for wildfire relief and long-term recovery efforts
• Support communities, ecosystems, and residents affected by the fire
• Fund ongoing recovery initiatives

Eligibility:

• 501(c)(3) organizations and qualified entities serving fire-affected areas
• Organizations involved in relief, recovery, and rebuilding efforts

Total Funding Awarded:

• Nearly $1 million distributed to date across Phase 1 and Phase 2 grants
• Still funding long-term recovery efforts

Phase 1 Grant Awards: (18 organizations)

• Range: $10,000 - $20,000
• Total distributed: Approximately $180,000
• Recipients included: Visiones Collaborativas, Mora County Water Alliance, HELP New Mexico, Safe Space NM, The Food Depot, MainStreet de Las Vegas, and others

Phase 2 Grant Awards: (27 organizations and initiatives)

• Range: $4,000 - $95,000
• Largest single award: $95,000 to Long Term Recovery Group
• Notable recipients: Neighbors Helping Neighbors ($56,000), Mora Head Start ($18,240), MSM Long Term Recovery Group ($25,000)

   • Applications evaluated for alignment with relief and recovery mission

Note: Relief funding is distributed as new applications are received and approved. Ongoing recovery efforts continue to be funded.
