ASH's most prestigious awards, the Honorific Awards recognize hematologists who have made significant contributions to the field of hematology through research, education, leadership, and practice. Henry M. Stratton Medal The Henry M. Stratton Medal is named after the late Henry Maurice Stratton, co-founder of Grune and Stratton, the medical publishing house that first published ASH's journal Blood. The prize honors two senior investigators whose contributions to hematology both basic and clinical/translational research are well recognized and have taken place over a period of several years. For the basic science medal – the award seeks to recognize outstanding research achievements in basic science relevant to hematology. This includes recognition from peers as being among the top 10% of investigators in the field of interest. It is expected that this individual is of senior stature reflective of at least 20 years of sustained research contributions. For the clinical/translational science medal – the award seeks to recognize outstanding research contributions in hematology directly relevant to diagnosis, treatment or prevention of disease or disease pathogenesis. It is expected that this individual is of senior stature reflective of at least 20 years of sustained research contributions.Eligibility
