How to Apply
Heart of Variety Grant Application Process
The grant process is designed to be clear, accessible, and guided by lived experience. It consists of two steps.
Step 1: Submit Initial Request
1. Complete a short request form
2. Time Required: 2-5 minutes to complete
3. Form Contents: The form helps the team understand your family's needs and urgency
4. One Request Per Child: Please complete one request per child
5. Submission Result: Your family is placed on the Heart of Variety waitlist and considered for upcoming grant cycles
6. Note: Submitting the first request does not require a long application
Step 2: Advisory Committee Review (If Selected)
1. Families selected from waitlist will be randomly selected for current grant cycle
2. Invited to complete the second part of the application
3. Full application reviewed by Variety Texas Advisory Committee
4. Committee includes people with disabilities and advocates with lived experience
5. Their insight guides final grant decisions
Waitlist Process
- Once you submit your request, your family remains on the waitlist
- Families do not need to reapply for each cycle
- Random selection from waitlist occurs for each grant cycle
- If selected, team will contact you with next steps
