Health Care Workplace Safety Grant

The Health Care Workplace Safety Grant program, established by Minnesota's 2023 Session Law, aims to enhance safety in health care environments by funding initiatives that train staff in de-escalation and support services. With a total of $1.5 million available through 30 grants, each grant may provide up to $50,000 to improve workplace safety and prevent violence, ensuring a secure atmosphere for both staff and patients.

Workplace Safety Grants for Health Care Entities
The Workplace Safety Grants for Health Care Entities program, authorized by 2023 Session Law Chapter 70, Article 4, Section 109, is established to award grants to increase safety measures in health care settings and establish or expand programs to train staff in health care settings on de-escalation and positive support services. The program is focused on preventing workplace violence. MDH anticipates awarding approximately $1,500,000 through 30 grants in this funding cycle. The maximum award amount is $50,000.
