Overview

The HDR Foundation: Canada Grant Cycle offers support to qualified organizations in education, health, and environmental stewardship. Founded in 2012, this employee-driven foundation has contributed over $6 million to more than 250 organizations. Grants prioritize projects with direct community impact and employee involvement. Eligible applicants include registered charities and municipalities. However, funding is not available for individual scholarships or operational support. The establishment of the HDR Canada Fund in 2020 enhances philanthropic outreach across Canada.

The HDR Foundation provides grants to qualified organizations that align with HDR’s areas of expertise: education, healthy communities and environmental stewardship. Since its inception, the HDR Foundation has provided more than $6 million in grants to over 250 organizations.
Our Areas of Focus
We provide grants for projects that demonstrate direct impact as well as projects that can be replicated or scaled.
Education
We fund educational grants addressing education from pre-K through college.

We fund grants that address active lifestyles, wellness education and preventative healthcare.

We support grants that address restoration, renewal, conservation and sustainable best practices of our global resources.

Eligibility

Qualified donees are as follows:a registered charity (including a registered national arts service organization)
a registered journalism organization
a registered housing corporation resident in Canada constituted exclusively to provide low-cost housing for the aged
a registered Canadian municipality
a registered municipal or public body performing a function of government in Canada
a registered university outside Canada, the student body of which ordinarily includes students from Canada
a registered charitable organization outside Canada to which His Majesty in right of Canada has made a gift
the United Nations and its agencies
His Majesty in right of Canada, a province, or a territory, and the United Nations and its agencies are qualified donees that do not have to be registered to be recognized as such.
