Federal grant program authorized by Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act. Designed to assist states, local governments, private non-profit organizations, and Indian Tribes in implementing long-term hazard mitigation measures following a major disaster declaration. Eligible project types include acquisition, elevation, wind retrofit, flood control/drainage improvement, generators, hurricane safe rooms, tornado safe rooms, wildfire mitigation, drought mitigation, and utility mitigation.
