Overview
Federal grant program authorized by Section 404 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act, designed to assist states, local governments, private non-profit organizations, and Indian Tribes in implementing long-term hazard mitigation measures following a major disaster declaration. Projects must be selected by county Local Mitigation Strategy Working Groups (LMSWG) and placed on project priority lists before application. Eligible project types include: acquisition, elevation, wind retrofit, flood control/drainage improvement, generators, hurricane safe rooms, tornado safe rooms, wildfire mitigation, drought mitigation, and utility mitigation.
Eligibility: Government entities, private non-profit organizations, Indian Tribes (ineligible entities may apply through eligible applicants)
