Hanover Life Squad Fund Grant

The Hanover Life Squad Fund, established in 1999, supports local fire departments and emergency medical services in Butler County. Founded by Joseph B. Pater, the fund ensures these organizations have necessary resources for community safety. Grant priorities include equipment purchases, staffing, and training, with a preference for units on the west side of Butler County. Nonprofits applying for funding are encouraged to provide matching funds to strengthen their applications.

The Hanover Life Squad, Inc. Fund
The Hanover Life Squad Fund was established in 1999 following the closure of the Hanover Life Squad, after 26 years of service. The fund was founded by Joseph B. Pater, owner of Kellin, Inc., and the only original squad member still serving at the time of its disbandment. He was joined by fellow board members Dennis Byrd, Marcia Roemer, Janet Pater, and Tim Roemer in launching this initiative.
Created with a mission to continue the spirit of service, the fund is dedicated to supporting local fire departments and emergency medical services, ensuring they have the resources needed to protect and serve our communities.
Funding Priorities
Grants from this fund support local EMS and fire services, including equipment purchases, staffing, training and supplies. Organizations applying for grants are strongly encouraged to provide matching funds for the amount they are requesting. Preference is given to units on Butler County's west side, including Hanover, Millville and Reily Township Departments.

Eligibility

Applicants do not need to wait one year between applications. Recipients must be a tax-exempt, 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service. Organizations must submit a completed Grant Outcome Evaluation Report for a grant previously awarded before a new grant application will be considered.

No grants are awarded to individuals.
