Overview

GSBA Tuition Scholarship

Overview: The Garden State Bar Association (GSBA) Tuition Scholarship is an annual award established more than three decades ago to support law students pursuing legal careers in New Jersey.

Geographic Scope: New Jersey law schools prioritized; also open to New Jersey residents attending ABA-accredited law schools nationwide.

Eligibility:

  • Currently enrolled in a New Jersey law school, OR

  • New Jersey resident attending an ABA-accredited law school outside New Jersey

  • In good academic standing

  • Demonstrate financial need

  • Show meaningful involvement in law school activities and/or service to the African-American or Black community

  • Meet any specific class-year requirements as outlined in the application form

    • Award Recognition: Scholarship recipients will be formally recognized at the 51st Anniversary Scholarship & Awards Gala on June 27, 2026 at Embassy Suites in Berkeley Heights, NJ.

    2. Personal statement/biography
    3. Academic information and supporting documentation
    4. Any other materials required by the form
    5. All required fields must be completed before submission — incomplete applications may not be considered
