Overview

GROW Grants Program

Overview: The Northwestern Lehigh Educational Foundation (NWLEF) launched the GROW Grants program in 2007 to empower and inspire teachers across the Northwestern Lehigh School District. GROW Grants fund innovative ideas and classroom projects that directly impact students' learning experiences.

Purpose: To recognize outstanding teachers and help them bring creative, impactful projects to life in their classrooms—projects that go beyond the standard school budget.

Geographic Scope: Northwestern Lehigh School District (Pennsylvania)

Focus Areas: Educational innovation, curriculum enhancement, student learning experiences

Eligible Projects

Projects eligible for funding must:

  • Fulfill the NWLEF mission

  • Provide a significant and defined benefit to students

  • Represent a new (or the rethinking of an existing) educational initiative

  • Have potential for replication or dissemination among teachers and/or schools

  • Be outside the normal budget or planning considerations

  • Projects might also explore use and integration of new technologies, expand student experiential learning opportunities, and/or engage families and/or communities in education
  • What Can Be Funded

    • Educational materials and supplies (non-consumable preferred)
    • Equipment purchases (become property of Northwestern Lehigh School District)
    • Technology integration
    • Student experiential learning opportunities

    Eligibility

    • Teachers in Northwestern Lehigh School District

    Requirements

    • All recipients must acknowledge NWLEF on their teacher website and provide a link to the Foundation site
    • Projects outside normal budget or planning considerations
    • Equipment purchased becomes property of the school district

    How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Talk with your building administrator about your application idea(s)
    2. Research pricing - Search for or negotiate best price with approved District vendors; be aware of anticipated item costs (including shipping) when formulating your project budget; utilize building and district resources as needed
    3. Complete the online application - Answers required to all questions
    4. Include supporting materials:
    - Include links to websites with further information about items to be purchased
    - If additional information needed, scan documents and send to teacherminigrant@nwlef.org
    5. If program may need additional funding after initial grant: Request an email from your Principal indicating their financial/budget support of the program after the initial grant period; send this email to teacherminigrant@nwlef.org

    Spring 2026:

  • Application Cut-off: February 16, 2026

  • Award Notification: March 31, 2026
  • Fall 2026:

  • Application remains open throughout spring and summer

  • Application Cut-off: October 15, 2026
