Overview

The Foundation for the Tri-State Community Inc. is an independent, non-profit, tax-exempt philanthropic corporation – and the community foundation serving the Tri-State area of eastern Kentucky, southwestern West Virginia and southern Ohio. As a community foundation, we enable our donors to achieve their charitable goals, support and strengthen non-profit organizations through our grants and technical assistance and improve the lives of our citizens. The Greenup County Green Fund The Greenup County Green Fund was established in 1999 by a family member in memory of Owen and Doris Pillans.  The purpose of the Fund is to encourage projects which physically improve and enhance the natural environment, and quality thereof, in Greenup County, Kentucky, and to support educational or research projects that promote or develop these goals. The amount and number of projects which will be recognized in any one year shall be determined by the Fund’s Advisory Committee.  It is specifically understood that more than one eligible project may be funded in any given year if the Advisory Committee so elects.
