The foundation supports:

  • Promotion of public interest through charitable and social welfare activities under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code

  • Defense of human and civil rights as secured by law, including review of public policy regarding individual property rights and liberties

  • Citizen education on governmental actions, policies, and practices affecting individual rights and liberties through objective, fact-based presentations via discussion groups, forums, panels, and lectures
  • Focus Areas:

  • For the past five (5) years, CFI has focused support on assisting the New Mexico Cattle Growers' Association in its endeavors

  • Projects that support youth in agriculture
  • Eligibility:

  • 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organizations

  • Projects aligned with CFI's mission
  • What CFI Does NOT Fund:

  • Indirect costs are not covered
  • Application Deadlines:

  • December meeting: Grants must be submitted by December 1

  • June meeting: Grants must be submitted by May 15

    Grant Application Guidelines

    Cover Page Requirements:

  • Title of Request

  • Submitter: Name, address, phone number, email

  • Organization: Name of entity making request

  • Date of Submission
  • Content Pages Requirements:
    1. Amount of Request - Specify funding amount requested
    2. Purpose of Request - Clearly state the purpose
    3. Disclosure on Funding Need - Include background on the request and justification for why funding is needed
    4. Implementation Plan - Detail how the funding will be used
    5. Project Timeline - Provide timeline for project completion
    6. Completion Date - Specify when the project will be completed
    7. Reporting Plan - Indicate when interim and/or final reports will be submitted
    8. Mission Alignment - Explain how the funding request meets the purpose of CFI
