Grain Storage Facility Safety Grant

The Grain Storage Facility Safety Grant, offered by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, provides financial assistance to farmers for purchasing and installing safety equipment for grain bins and silos. Eligible applicants can receive up to 75% of costs, with a maximum of $400 per bin or silo, and an annual cap of $2,400 per farm. This grant aims to enhance safety measures in agricultural practices across Minnesota.

NOTE: We review applications in the order in which they are received until funds run out. We’ll give priority to applications received by May 1 of each year – applications received after that may be put on hold until the new fiscal year starts on July 1.
The Grain Storage Facility Safety Grant helps Minnesota farmers buy and install eligible safety equipment for on-farm grain bins or silos.
Grant amount
You may request up to 75% of eligible expenses up to $400 per bin or silo.There is a limit of $2,400 per farm per fiscal year.Maximum of 6 bins or silos per farm per fiscal year.Farms may submit only one application per fiscal year.Payments are issued on a reimbursement basis and not in advance.
