Graduate Student Travel Grants

The Society for the Study of Early Modern Women and Gender offers Graduate Student Travel Grants to support up to six graduate students annually. These grants cover travel expenses up to $500 for students presenting their work at conferences that align with the Society's mission. Applications are accepted biannually, with deadlines on January 1 and September 1. This initiative fosters interdisciplinary scholarship and promotes inclusivity in the study of women and gender in the early modern context.

NOTE: Travel grant applications will be accepted twice a year. Apply by  January 1 for spring/summer conferences and September 1 for fall conferences.
The Society for the Study of Early Modern Women and Gender supports and promotes inclusive, creative scholarship on women and gender across the early modern world. We are committed to interdisciplinary, intersectional approaches that are historically sensitive and theoretically exploratory, and to teaching that reflects this scholarship.
Each year, the Society for the Study of Early Modern Women and Gender provides travel support for up to six graduate students to present their work at national or international conferences. Travel costs up to $500 each will be supported.
