Overview

The American Australian Association established its Graduate Education Fund in 2002 to provide much needed financial support and assistance to American and Australian individuals to undertake innovative and transformational Masters, Ph.D. or Postdoctoral study and research in each other’s countries respectively. With more than 423 scholars and alumni and almost US $13 million awarded to date, we are committed to helping advance graduate education, in order to enable our countries most valuable resource – human capital – to unlock creative new solutions to global challenges and improve the quality of life for all citizens. Our American-Australian Education Fund scholarships support Masters, PhD and Postdoctoral research in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Health, Medicine, Journalism and Sustainability. In addition, we offer a number of Indigenous Graduate scholarships to support Native Americans and Indigenous Australians undertaking study in any disciplinary field in Australia & the United States respectively. Graduate Education Fund: AUKUS Scholarships The American Australian Association is strongly supportive of AUKUS and its aim to promote stability, security, and most importantly freedom within the wider Indo-Pacific region. The AUKUS Scholarships support American and Australian individuals undertaking full-time Graduate level study with a focus on the fields of security, technology, and diplomacy. Applicants with specializations including but not limited to Pillar I and the SSN-AUKUS Submarine Program, the Pillar II fields of Artificial Intelligence and Autonomy, Quantum Technology, Advanced Cyber, Undersea Technology, Hypersonics, and Electronic Warfare, as well as the aligned capability of Innovation, specifically regarding climate and clean energy, are strongly encouraged to apply. This scholarship will provide support of up to US $40,000 and may be used to support tuition, travel, living expenses and any other associated educational or research costs. Submission Period: USA to Australia: Open for application on August 1 to September 30.Australia to USA: Open for application on January 1 to March 31.
