History The Greater Polson Community Foundation was born from the desire to give something back to our community and from the example and accomplishments of other Montana community foundations. Our initial meeting, Dec. 15, 2007, was followed by an ambitious plan for the New Year to become completely organized before we introduced the foundation to the community. With guidance from the Montana Community Foundation (MCF), we evolved from a group of interested volunteers into a strong board of directors with a clear vision/mission. Our first grants were awarded in August 2009, and have been awarded once a year thereafter. Our Mission The Greater Polson Community Foundation provides permanent leadership by empowering donors to continuously build and strengthen our community. Impact Grants GPCF IMPACT grants are to assist in the building of a “robust and welcoming community where we all have the opportunity to be healthy, well-educated, creative, productive and prosperous”.   We provide grants to enhance and improve the lives of the people who live in our community. Grants from the Greater Polson Community Foundation can make a significant difference. Over $1,000,000 has been contributed to meet needs in our community since grants were first awarded in 2009. Grants are funded annually by the earning’s from the foundation’s growing permanent endowment and other available GPCF funds. Past grant awards have supported a variety of youth and community projects.
