Global Science Summit & Gala Scholarship Program

Overview: The Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics Global Science Summit & Gala Scholarships provide financial assistance to help parents and primary caregivers attend the annual FAST Global Science Summit & Gala in person.

Sponsor: These scholarships are generously made possible by Maddie's Mission Foundation, created by a family who knows firsthand what this journey feels like and wants others to feel seen, supported, and surrounded by hope.

Event Details:

  • Event: 2025 FAST Global Science Summit & Gala

  • Dates: November 6-9, 2025

  • Location: Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld, Orlando, FL

  • Check-in: Thursday, November 6, 2025

  • Check-out: Sunday, November 9, 2025

    • Eligibility:

  • Open to parents and primary caregivers

  • Previous in-person FAST Global Science Summit & Gala attendees are eligible

  • Priority given to first-time attendees

  • Open to domestic and international attendees

  • International applicants should note: award is limited to amounts listed under Scholarship Award

  • Gala tickets require attendees to be 21+

    • International Applicants:

  • If you live outside the United States and will need a visa to travel, consider applying early

  • FAST can write a letter of invitation to include with visa applications

  • To request invitation letter: email events@cureangelman.org with full names of family members attending

    • What's Included in the Scholarship Award:

  • Airfare: Economy airfare for up to two people, not to exceed $1,000 total ($500 per person maximum)

  • Hotel: One hotel room for 3 nights at Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld (room and tax included; incidentals are awardee responsibility)

  • Gala Tickets: Up to two complimentary gala tickets for individual and one guest (must be 21+) for Saturday, November 8, 2025

  • Ground Transportation: To/from Orlando airport and hotel

  • Meals: Complimentary breakfast and lunch on Friday; breakfast on Saturday; dinner on Saturday with gala ticket

  • Summit Access: Entry into all events associated with the Global Science Summit, including Community event on Thursday, November 6

    • Important Notes:

  • FAST directly purchases plane tickets and hotel stays; confirmation emails provided to awardees

  • FAST provides up to 2 complimentary Gala tickets

  • If winner travels with more than one guest, winner is responsible for additional guest's airfare, hotel, transportation, and gala tickets

  • All registered attendees have free access to Summit presentations, community event, complimentary breakfasts, and lunch
