Glen Miller Grants for Emergency Health Care Costs

Purpose

To benefit financially needy individuals faced with unanticipated and/or emergency health care expenses for which there is no or inadequate health insurance or other reimbursement. Grants will be paid through a nonprofit organization that is working with the family and will report on the use of the grant.

Eligibility

* Grants may be used for equipment, therapy, rehab, necessary capital improvements, or other similar expenses.
* Applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations within the eight-county region around Rochester (Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, and Yates counties).

Ineligibility

* Grants are limited to one per family.
* Grants may not be used for preventive or routine treatment, for reimbursable costs, or to support administration costs. 
* The Community Foundation’s competitive grants program generally does not fund special events, fundraising campaigns, religious activities, endowments, buildings (except for historical assets), or debt retirement.
