Organization: American Federation of Police & Concerned Citizens (AFP&CC), a program of the United States Law Enforcement Foundation, Inc.

Geographic Scope: Nationwide (United States and Puerto Rico)

Program Description: Remembering the children, spouses and parents of fallen officers with gifts throughout the year is a core part of AFP&CC's work.

The North Pole Gift Program

Established: 1989

Participants: Over 900 children from almost every state in the United States and Puerto Rico, plus thousands of spouses and parents

Scope: In 2016, gifts, ornaments and cards were sent to more than 13,000 survivor children, parents and spouses

Gift Categories

Birthday Gifts:

The North Pole handles birthday gifts for each child and young person in the program
Available to children ages 0 to 17 years old

Holiday Gifts:

Peak activity occurs September and October
All children and young people ages 0 to 17 within the program receive specially selected gifts during the holiday season
Parents receive holiday cards and unique ornament gifts

Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day Remembrances:

AFP&CC sends cards and small mementos to surviving parents on Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day
Recognizes their loss and provides comfort on difficult days

Anniversary Gifts:

On the one-year anniversary of the officer's death and each year thereafter, AFP&CC sends a gift of remembrance to honor the fallen hero and comfort the family

Ages 0 to 17 years old (for birthday and holiday gifts)
