Overview

The Gargiulo Legacy Fund was established by NOTES to honor Jeff and Valerie Gargiulo. This scholarship program provides funding for aspiring young musicians in Napa Valley to take private lessons at the Napa School of Music.

• Established: Created to honor the Gargiulos' belief in how music enriches children's lives
• Launch: Program began at NOTES' annual fundraiser in October 2024
• First Cohort: Selected in February 2025

Target Population

Young musicians and aspiring students in Napa Valley with financial need. The program specifically addresses the gap in music education access:
• Only 28% of interested students from low-income families receive music instruction vs. 62% from higher-income households
• Gap largely due to high costs of lessons and instruments
• Supports students whose schools have cut music programs
