Frederick County Main Street Communities Cooperative Fund
Funder: Frederick County government and Tourism Council of Frederick County, Inc. (Visit Frederick)

Eligibility
Program Overview
Established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Frederick County government and Visit Frederick, this fund provides formula-driven allocations based on actual public and private monetary support of each community's Main Street program.- At least 50% of funds received over 12 months must be used for marketing the Main Street outside of Frederick County
Funding Uses
Required:Permitted Uses:
- Market studies and research for potential Main Street program establishment
- Attendance at state and national Main Street conferences and seminars
- Other expenditures deemed appropriate through collaboration with DHCD and Visit Frederick
Affiliate Funding
Special funds set aside for Main Street Maryland Affiliates may be used for:- Figures for actual public and private monetary support from each applying Main Street are combined
- Each program's percentage of the total is calculated
- Formula-driven allocation distributed accordingly
Allocation Process
- Designated Main Streets within Frederick County for use by two or more of them in collaborative marketing or development initiatives
- Determined by the county's Designated Main Streets in coordination with the Frederick County Office of Economic Development
Unused Affiliate Funds
Funds set aside for Affiliates that remain unencumbered by the beginning of the fourth quarter of a fiscal year become available to:- Economic planning support
- Marketing and promotion
- Training and education
- Designation as a State recognized Main Street program

Application Process

- Actual private monetary support of their Main Street program for the preceding fiscal year
2. Formula Calculation:
- All applying Main Street figures are combined
- Each program's percentage of the total is calculated
- Allocation is distributed based on formula

4. Affiliate Application:
- Main Street Maryland Affiliates accepted by DHCD may apply to access funds for:
- Market studies and research
