Frank Chesarek Memorial Scholarship Program

Overview: The Frank Chesarek Memorial Scholarship Program was established by the Chase Hawks Memorial Association (CHMA) in 2018 to honor founding member Frank Chesarek's dedication to education and the organization. For the 2026 scholarship cycle, a total of $10,000 will be awarded to eligible students.

History: In early 2018, CHMA began exploring ways to reinvest revenue from specialty license plates back into the community. The scholarship program was launched that year. Later in 2018, the program was renamed in honor of Frank Chesarek, who was instrumental in creating CHMA, served as coordinator of the Rough Stock Rodeo Weekend, and was a dedicated educator and organizational leader.

Geographic Scope: Applicants must reside in one of the following Montana and Wyoming counties: Big Horn, Carbon, Fergus, Golden Valley, Musselshell, Park, Petroleum, Rosebud, Stillwater, Sweet Grass, Treasure, Wheatland, or Yellowstone

• Must be pursuing a degree from an accredited institution of higher education
• Must reside in one of the eligible counties listed above
