Francis Grants Francis Grants are special funding opportunities to assist a diocese in special monumental events such as the ordination of a new Bishop, a special diocesan anniversary, or a visit from the Pope. Francis Grants can also be requested to assist with the personal continued education of a diocese’s Bishop. This funding is named in honor of Catholic Extension Society’s founder, Francis Clement Kelly, our former Chancellor Francis Cardinal George OMI, and Pope Francis.
