Foundation Grants

Geographic Scope: Lyme, New Hampshire

The Lyme Foundation welcomes applications from non-profit organizations with an interest in improving the quality of life in Lyme, New Hampshire. Grant applications are accepted at any time, with decisions typically made monthly.

Funding Priorities

Funding priority goes to requests in which a small amount of grant money will likely produce significant results. Applications should consider the following criteria:

• Meets a specific Lyme need
• Encourages volunteerism
• Benefits a broad constituency in town
• Seeds innovative new programs, opportunities and/or services in town
• Seeks partnerships with other granting and non-profit organizations (especially for requests over $5,000)
• Has committed leadership and individual involvement
• Meets the needs of an underserved group in town
• Addresses safety concerns in town
• Is the applicant's first request for funding
• Does not qualify for normal town funding (e.g., town budget funds)
• Identifies relevant stakeholders who might have concerns about the project
• Does not require approval at Town Meeting
• Is consistent with the spirit of the Lyme Foundation's mission

• The Foundation may include grant recipients by name and amount in future materials

Timeline

• Applications accepted at any time
• If application received by the 15th of the month, decisions will be made by the following month

Required Materials

• Completed application form
• Any attachments or additional supporting information (can be sent via email or U.S. Mail)

Review and Decision Process

1. Proposals are reviewed by the Grants Committee shortly after application receipt
2. Committee makes recommendation to the full Board
3. Board meets and votes monthly
4. Applicants may be contacted and invited to meet with the Grants Committee and/or full Board for additional information
5. Applicant is notified following the Board's decision
6. Specific arrangements made for disbursement of funds

Post-Award Requirements

• Grant recipients must submit a written report at the end of their project (within one year of the grant)
• Interim reports required if project takes more than one year to complete
• Grant recipients should mention the Lyme Foundation in publication materials or other public announcements about their project
