Brief Description
Foundation for a Healthy Carolina directs grantmaking to organizations that are aligned with its vision to create equity and enhance access to quality healthcare for vulnerable populations. The Foundation views itself as an investor in the community and is interested in creating the highest possible levels of human and community gain.
Result and Investment Areas
Foundation for a Healthy Carolina seeks proposals in the following investment areas:
* Healthcare grants will be directed to projects or programs that enhance equity and access to quality healthcare for vulnerable populations. Programs may address physical or mental health initiatives or address social determinants of health. Healthcare grants must serve individuals otherwise unable to access healthcare or health services they need.
* Education grants will be directed to projects or programs that support workforce development, recruitment, placement, or retention efforts within the healthcare field or which offer basic health education in the community.
Within these investment areas, the Foundation also encourages grant proposals that address regional health and health-related needs.
Projects and programs which clearly demonstrate their ability to attain measurable results will receive higher consideration. The Foundation will review each proposal's described evaluation metrics and anticipated results to decide how to invest the limited dollars of the Foundation. Grant requests are reviewed with the following questions in mind:
* What results are we investing in for this project?
* Is it likely the project will achieve these results?
* Is this the best possible use of funds?
Award
The Foundation typically awards grants between $10,000 and $50,000. Actual award amounts will be determined based on the merits of the project and available funds. In some circumstances, the Foundation may award a grant less than the requested amount.
