Flying Pig Marathon High School Scholarship

Status: Active annual scholarship program

Geographic Scope: Greater Cincinnati area (multi-state region)

  • Amount: $20,000 scholarships ($5,000/year) for 4 years of college

  • Number of Awards: 14+ scholarships annually

  • Bonus: All scholarship winners receive a $100 Skyline Chili gift card

  • Distribution: Funds awarded directly to bursar office at college/university of recipient's choice

  • Inspire passion for health and wellness in Greater Cincinnati youth

  • Support education and community service

  • Originally started as four $2,500 one-time scholarships, expanded due to support from Bob and Jeanne Coughlin Foundation and Skyline Chili

    • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Grade Level: Must be enrolled as a high school senior

  • Athletic Participation: Must be a member of high school Cross Country or Track & Field team

  • Academic: Minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA

  • Location: Must be enrolled and attend high school in Greater Cincinnati area (specified counties only)

    4. Enrolled and attending high school in Greater Cincinnati area (eligible counties only)

    Required Application Materials:
    1. Recommendation Letter (1 required)
    - Must be from school staff member
    - Acceptable recommenders: teacher, coach, principal, athletic director, or community leader

    2. Essay Response
    - Submit via online application link
    - Specific essay prompts/questions provided at application portal

    Application Process:
    1. Complete application form online at designated link
    2. Submit one recommendation letter from eligible school staff member
    3. Write and submit essay response through application portal
    4. Ensure all materials submitted by deadline
