Financial Education Grant

Overview: Grant program to support financial education initiatives by credit unions in Minnesota.

Geographic Scope: Minnesota

Focus Areas: Financial education programs for credit union members and communities

Eligibility: Minnesota Credit Union Network members

Funding Requirements:

  • Funding must be deployed for stated grant purpose within one year of receipt, unless recipient receives written extension

  • Any funds unused in completion of project must be returned to Foundation

  • Any significant changes that substantially alter the nature of project must be approved by Foundation before funds are expended
  • Funding Recognition:

  • Grant recipients must mention Minnesota Credit Union Foundation as having provided grant funding in all press releases, news stories, articles, interviews and website references

  • Suggested credit line: "_______ Credit Union received funding through a grant from the Minnesota Credit Union Foundation."

  • Copies of above materials must be provided to Minnesota Credit Union Foundation

  • Grant recipients will be expected to provide periodic progress updates to Foundation Board members

    8. Is this a one-time initiative or ongoing? If ongoing, have you identified future funding sources?
    9. Project timeline including start and completion dates and/or assessment dates
    10. If you receive a portion of grant request, will you proceed with the program?
    11. Detailed budget (file upload, max 20MB) that includes:
    - Financial contributions made by credit union and other partners
    - Whether expenses are estimates or actual costs
    - Specification of what budget items Minnesota Credit Union Foundation grant will cover
    12. Are other organizations involved in the project? Are they 501(c)(3)? Describe their involvement.
    13. Explanation of how grant will benefit credit union and/or community
    14. Agreement to funding recognition requirements
