NOTE: The Secretary will review Applications at least once a month until the funds available for the Program have been exhausted.In order to be eligible for a grant from the Program, an Applicant must first provide notice to the Department and the Partnership’s Film Office of its intent to do so.Potential grantees seeking money from the Program are required to submit a formal Application to the CFC. The Secretary, in consultation with CFC and Department staff, shall review the Application to reach a decision on whether an award will be made Film and Entertainment Grant North Carolina welcomes film makers. You'll find a talented crew base and dazzling locations in our beautiful state. Enjoy minimal permitting and expert help from our state film office to get you up and running. We can also offer financial rebates on your production expenses. To qualify: A television series must average an in-state spend of at least $500,000 per episode;A feature-length film must spend at least $1.5 million;Made-for-television movies must spend at least $500,000;A commercial production must have a minimum spend of at least $250,000. Grant limits: For a television series, grant awards shall not exceed $15 million per season;For a feature-length film (including made-for-television movies), awards cannot exceed $7 million;For a commercial, awards cannot exceed $250,000. Funding Grant Awards are limited to one grant per Production Company for a single production. In addition, grants awarded shall not exceed any of the following criteria: Twenty-five percent (25%) of the qualifying expenses for the production.Seven million dollars ($7,000,000) for a feature-length film (including a made-for-television movie). Fifteen million dollars($15,000,000) for a single season of a television series.Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for a commercial. The final Grant Award amount may not exceed the maximum Grant Award amount certified, neither per fiscal year nor in the aggregate.
