- Spine biomechanics and surgery
- Protein synthesis and metabolic disorders (diabetes, cancer)
- Intracranial aneurysm rupture
- Neuroimaging and peripheral nerve recovery
- ALS/FTD (microglia-astrocyte crosstalk)
- Glioblastoma and brain tumor imaging
- Neurodegenerative diseases (dementia, Alzheimer's)
- Precision glioma surgery

Program Description:

Highly competitive awards

Allow trainees to develop and run their own research projects without going through lengthy external grant application processes

Trainees gain experience writing grant applications and developing budgets

Financial reporting experience required

Progress reports due at end of year to Department Chair
