Family Services Program - Rental Assistance

Program Type: Rental assistance for eviction prevention

Geographic Scope: Sebastian and Crawford counties, AR

Funding Source: Home-ARP grant

Overview:
Family Services provides rental assistance to prevent eviction of low-income households on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a one-time assistance per grant period.

Award Options

Option 1 - Arrears:

• Maximum award: $2,000 or 3 months rent in arrears (whichever is less)

Option 2 - New Lease:

• Maximum award: $2,000 (covers 2 months' rent plus rental deposit meeting Fair Market Rent guidelines)

Eligibility Requirements

• Reside in Sebastian or Crawford counties
• Meet income guidelines (specific income limits not detailed)
• Must be at risk of eviction or have current Sheriff's Eviction

Special Consideration

• Applicants with current Sheriff's Eviction can apply for priority assistance

1. General Applicants:

   • Request to be added to the rental assistance waitlist
   • Program operates on first-come, first-served basis
   • Available funds are currently limited
2. Applicants with Sheriff's Eviction:
   • Call 479-785-2303 immediately
   • Request to be added to the waitlist for rental assistance
   • Priority consideration for emergency eviction prevention
