Program Overview

The FAMA Grant Fund is facilitated on an annual basis by FAMA's Education-Scholarship Committee. Award of grants is conditional upon board notification that the fund will award a scholarship in a given calendar year. This is a discretionary program that operates alongside the Phillip L. Turner Scholarship.

Eligible Institutions

Grants are available to students at accredited U.S. universities offering approved Fire Science and/or Engineering Programs, including:

• Fayetteville State University

• Oklahoma State University
• Salem State University
• Southwestern University (TX)
• University of Illinois
• University of Maryland
• University of New Haven
• University of North Carolina at Charlotte
• University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh
• Worcester Polytechnic Institute

Award Process

• Grant awards are determined on an annual basis
• Applications are reviewed and recommendations forwarded for board review and approval
• Press releases are prepared following award announcements
