Overview

Export Assistance Program

Overview: Advantage Valley is launching a program to guide local companies through the process of exporting or expanding into new international markets, in partnership with the U.S. Commercial Service's Appalachian Rural Export Center (REC).

Geographic Scope: Boone, Cabell, Clay, Jackson, Kanawha, Lincoln, Mason, Putnam, and Wayne Counties, West Virginia

Eligibility Requirements:

  • For-profit, privately held company headquartered and operating in Advantage Valley, West Virginia

  • Currently producing and selling a product or service

  • 95% owned by U.S. Citizens OR created under U.S. laws

  • Product produced with at least 51% U.S. made inputs
  • Funding:

  • Financial Assistance: Up to $5,000 provided by Advantage Valley

  • Additional Funding: Potential to receive $15,000 more through STEP Funding through the WV Department of Economic Development

  • Funded by: Appalachian Regional Commission through a POWER Grant

    Application Process

    1. Complete the Advantage Valley Export Assistance Application
    2. Initial Meeting: Once approved, an initial meeting with the Appalachian REC will be scheduled
    3. Access Team: Gain access to a team at the REC assigned to your company to research, consult, and help you make strategic decisions about export opportunities
