* _Grant requests are reviewed on a rolling basis. Review time can take eight to 12 weeks. The application closes mid-October for the current calendar year.  Funding requests for a program or event must be submitted at least 90 days in advance._
* _For requests above $10,000, please submit a one-page letter with your proposal and why Eversource would be a good partner.

Eversource Energy Foundation

The Eversource Energy Foundation is an independent, nonprofit philanthropic organization that is funded solely by Eversource Energy shareholders. It proudly invests in organizations, initiatives and services that provide broad, meaningful and sustainable change in the communities we serve and in the lives of our customers.
The Foundation is governed by a board of directors that reviews Foundation program guidelines to ensure they reflect our values, mission and giving strategy.

To support our communities and make a positive difference in the lives of our customers, the Eversource Energy Foundation provides sponsorships and grants for events and programs to organizations within our service territory with a focus on environmental justice and historically marginalized communities.

Funding Priorities

We support nonprofit organizations with focus on one or more of the following areas:

* Community Wellness and Basic Human Needs: Programs that provide families with essential tools and resources to meet their basic health and human services needs. This includes food and nutritional needs, social services and medical needs.
* Education: Programs that support STEM education, literacy, mentoring and youth development to help build a well-trained workforce for years to come.
* Clean Energy and Environmental Stewardship: Organizations that educate, inform and advance environmental issues that have the potential to impact our communities. Programs include environmental conservation and education, park updates and trail projects. 
* Community Awareness and Engagement: We support organizations that encourage and promote the engagement of historically marginalized and disinvested communities.
* Community, Economic and Workforce Development: Programs that help revitalize underserved communities and support workforce development and educational opportunities.

Award Amounts

Typical grants are between $1,000 and $10,000, and do not automatically renew. Organizations must reapply each year. There is a limit of one donation per organization in a calendar year.

Eligibility

* Organizations seeking a grant:
* Must be based within Eversource's service territory
* Must have a 501(c)(3) designation
* Your request for funding must fit within at least one of the Eversource Foundation funding priorities.
* Event sponsorship is available for:
* Community Fundraisers
* Conference/Seminars
* Galas
* While we do not typically support golf tournaments, you are still welcome to apply
* While we do not typically support runs/walks, you are still welcome to apply

Ineligibility

* The Foundation does not make awards that fund:
* Fraternal and political organizations
* Capital projects
* Private foundations or endowments
* Funding for personnel related matters
* Reducing or eliminating debt
* Personal expenses related to events, conferences, travel, etc.
* Advertising
* Utility or energy efficiency upgrades or utility bill assistance
* Sporting leagues
* Walks/races (outside of our signature events)
* United Ways (A signature partner)
