ETCF Geoscience Scholarships: The East Texas Geological Society Scholarship Grant

The East Texas Geological Society Scholarship, administered by the East Texas Communities Foundation, supports students majoring in Geology. Established to foster educational pursuits, this scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students who are at least sophomores at the time of application. The foundation, created in 1989, has a rich history of providing financial assistance to enhance educational opportunities in East Texas, reflecting a strong commitment to community development.

East Texas Communities Foundation
East Texas Communities Foundation was founded in 1989 by visionary leaders who saw the need for a community foundation to serve the people and communities of East Texas. The strong leadership of early organizers like Isadore Roosth, Norman Shtofman, “Dub” Riter, and an investment of the United Way of Tyler/Smith County launched the Foundation. By 1994, the Foundation’s assets had grown to more than one million dollars.
East Texas Communities Foundation administers a variety of scholarships that have been established by generous individuals to assist students with their educational pursuits. Each scholarship expresses a deep belief in the power of education to help young people achieve their dreams.
Geoscience Scholarships: The East Texas Geological Society Scholarship
The East Texas Geological Society Scholarship is awarded to a student who is at least a sophomore at the time of application and who has declared his or her major to be Geology. The applicant may be an undergraduate or graduate Geology student.
