Establish a Scholarship

The Robert H. Mollohan Family Charitable Foundation offers a scholarship establishment program that allows families, businesses, and organizations to create custom scholarship funds with Foundation matching support.

Key Features

• Foundation Matching: 100% match of the first $10,000 contributed within 2 years of initial deposit
• Subsequent Matching: After initial $10,000 match, Foundation provides 50% match of subsequent contributions of $10,000 or less (if fund balance exceeds $20,000)
• Minimum Balance: $20,000 required in order to award a scholarship
• Administrative Fee: Active scholarship funds with balance less than $20,000 at end of fiscal year are charged $250 annual administrative expense fee

Fund Management

• Donor Control: Families, businesses, and organizations determine scholarship criteria
• Recipient Selection: Donors can select recipients themselves or defer to Foundation
• Promotion: Foundation will promote all scholarships
• Reporting: Annual report provided at end of calendar year showing fund performance and value
• Contributions: No minimum amount per contribution; can be made anytime by family and friends
• Tax Deduction: All contributions are tax deductible
