ESCMID Mission The European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of infection-related diseases. This is achieved by promoting and supporting research, education, training, and good medical practice. Study Group Collaboration Grant The Study Group Collaboration Grant is a larger-scale grant for innovative research projects in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases organised by an experienced PI with the support of at least 3 ESCMID Study Groups collaborating together. Who can applyApplicants must be principal investigators for the proposed research and be experienced in large research projects. This cannot be the applicants first research project, and ideally, they have some years of experience.The Study Groups involved must display full support of this proposal by written approval by the Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer of the respective Study Groups.Project CriteriaProposed projects must include the support of at least 3 ESCMID Study Groups.The research project may be based on laboratory investigations, clinical studies, experimental animal studies, or a combination of these. However, it must contain a translation componentApplications should be of a high quality with a large focus on innovation and networkingResearch must be carried out as a collaborative project involving at least two separate institutions in two different countries. A member of each Study Group must be involved in the project at some levelThe research project should be designed for a maximum duration of 2 years. The research project should start after signing the grant agreement You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member. The applicants must be ESCMID Full, LMIC or Young Scientist members in good standing.Ineligibility
