With $8 million available, it can cover up to 100% of eligible costs, providing a maximum award of $5 million per project for qualifying applicants. This initiative aims to enhance California's clean energy transition.Overview
As the state’s primary energy policy and planning agency, the California Energy Commission (CEC) plays a critical role in creating the energy system of the future—one that is clean, modern, and ensures the fifth largest economy in the world continues to thrive. Combating climate change is fundamental to maintaining California’s future. The agency’s research, programs and policies remain crucial today as the state plans for 100% clean energy and carbon neutrality by mid-century. CEC is helping create the energy system of California’s future through activities such as Planning and Policy Development, Renewable Energy Growth; Energy Efficiency; Energy Innovation; Cleaner Transportation; and Responsible Electricity Infrastructure. EnergIIZE Commercial Vehicles (MDHD ZEV Infrastructure Incentive Block Grant project) – Transit Set-Aside Funding Lane - Rollover EnergIIZE (Energy Infrastructure Incentives for Zero-Emission) Commercial Vehicles is the nation’s first commercial vehicle fleet infrastructure incentive project. Funded by the California Energy Commission’s Clean Transportation Program and implemented by CALSTART, EnergIIZE Commercial Vehicles provides incentives for zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure equipment for medium- and heavy-duty (MDHD) battery-electric and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles operated and domiciled in California. The Transit Set-Aside funding lane is specifically for electric vehicle charging and/or hydrogen refueling infrastructure equipment that will support zero-emission transit buses. The Transit Set-Aside funding lane pairs infrastructure incentives (EnergIIZE) with vehicle incentives from the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) Hybrid and Zero-Emission Truck and Bus Voucher Incentive Project (HVIP). The Transit Set-Aside Funding Lane - Rollover program for the EnergIIZE Commercial Vehicles project has $8 million in funding available. The program can cover up to 100% of eligible costs, with a maximum award of $5 million per project for applicants meeting the equity criteria.Eligibility
