Overview: Provides urgent support for projects impacted by natural disasters, accidents, or sudden loss of income.

Status: Currently closed but available for urgent needs

Geographic Scope: Developing countries (no US, Europe, Japan, or Australia though territories are eligible)

Focus Areas:

  • Projects that recently faced sudden loss to facilities due to natural disaster or accidents

  • Projects facing unanticipated sudden loss of income due to loss of a major funder
  • What They Don't Fund:

  • Urgent conservation issues such as intense illegal collection (apply to General Nesting Beach Grants instead)
  • Funding Priorities:

  • Projects in developing countries

  • Projects that support (in significant numbers) species listed by IUCN as critically endangered or endangered (hawksbills, Kemp's ridleys, greens, and Eastern Pacific leatherbacks)
