Overview

EIP Diversity Scholarship

Overview: The Environmental Integrity Project launched its "Diversity Scholarship" grant program in partnership with the University of Maryland's Francis King Carey School of Law in Baltimore (2020) and the University of Texas School of Law (2021).

Purpose: To encourage law students from diverse backgrounds—in particular, people of color—to pursue careers in public interest law with a focus on environmental justice.

Award Amount: $60,000 invested over two years at each university

Participating Institutions:

  • University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Baltimore

  • University of Texas School of Law, Austin
  • Eligibility:

  • Law students with demonstrated interest in public interest environmental law and environmental justice

  • Students from diverse backgrounds, particularly people of color
  • Benefits:

  • Scholars receive support during their law school tenure
