Overview: Support for Black-owned businesses through grants.

Background: The Economic Justice Fund was initially launched in summer 2020 with a commitment to give $600,000 to families in the Newhallville and Dixwell neighborhoods for basic needs. Coverage has expanded to target established Black-owned businesses.

Geographic Scope: New Haven, Connecticut

Eligibility:

Black-owned businesses

Established businesses in operation for at least 24 months

Located in New Haven

Funding Details:

Grant Amount: Up to $10,000 depending on assessed need

Selection: 10 businesses accepted per round

Additional Support: CTNext sponsored technical assistance of up to $15,000 in the form of identified consultants in areas such as:

- Marketing
- Financial/accounting
- New product development
- Legal
- Web design
- Communications and public relations

Application Process: Short application process; ConnCORP works with trusted business and community partners to solicit referrals to established Black-owned businesses.
