Early Career Awards- Janett Rosenberg Trubatch Career Development Award Grant

The Janett Rosenberg Trubatch Career Development Award, funded by the Society for Neuroscience, supports creative research and academic transitions for early-career neuroscientists. This award recognizes two recipients annually, each receiving $2,000 and complimentary registration to the SfN meeting. Nominations are made by SfN members, and nominees must have a PhD or MD with less than 10 years of experience. The award honors Janett Rosenberg Trubatch's legacy and encourages innovation in neuroscience.

The Janett Rosenberg Trubatch Career Development Award, supported by the Trubatch Family, recognizes originality and creativity in research and promotes success during academic transitions prior to tenure.
This award, previously known as the Career Development Award until 2011, was renamed in 2011 to honor Janett Rosenberg Trubatch.
Two recipients each year receive a $2,000 award and complimentary registration to SfN's annual meeting. The SfN president presents the award at a lecture at the meeting.

Eligibility

Nomination Criteria:Nominations must be made or endorsed by an SfN member.
Nominees do not need to be SfN members.Nominees must have a PhD or MD (or equivalent) with fewer than 10 years of full-time work.*Candidates working in non-academic environments are eligible if their work is published and meets academic standards.
*Time taken off for child-rearing does not count in these totals. Part-time work and other special circumstances are evaluated at the discretion of the committee.

Ineligibility

Self-nomination is not permitted.No person may nominate more than one candidate
Current SfN officers and councilors are ineligible for nomination.
Post-docs are ineligible.Nominees cannot have received university tenure before nomination deadline.
Due to the potential conflicts of interest, members of the selection committee may not be the nominees and they cannot serve as nominators nor write letters of recommendation.
