Dylan Witschen Foundation Scholarship

Background: Established in loving memory of Dylan Witschen, a vibrant teenage football player at Anoka Senior High School who was diagnosed with a rare cancerous brain tumor in August 2008 after a routine tackle in football practice. Despite treatment at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, Dylan passed away on June 8th, 2010.

Mission: To provide scholarships to college-bound students and support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in hopes of finding a cure for childhood cancer, honoring Dylan's final request.

    Geographic Scope

  • Eligible Schools: Anoka Senior High School and Blaine Senior High School (Minnesota)

    Eligibility Requirements

  • Senior football players from Anoka or Blaine Senior High Schools
  • College-bound students
  • Must portray the "7" characteristics Dylan exemplified:
  • - Compassion - Giving - Team Player - Determination - Strength - Leadership - Confidence (Swagger)

Award History
