Overview

Driver's Education Scholarship

Organization: Blue Skies for Children

Purpose: To provide an opportunity for students to participate in a professionally licensed Driver's Education Program that may otherwise be unaffordable.

    Eligibility

  • Age: 15 to 17 years old
  • Status: Homeless, low-income, or in foster care
  • Geographic scope: Whatcom and Skagit County residents only
  • Additional requirements:
  • - Access to a car and auto insurance - Family income verification (eligible for free/reduced lunch under WA State OSPI Guidelines qualifies) - Identification required for parent/guardian and child

    Award Details

  • Amount: Up to $500 per scholarship
  • Limit: 5 scholarships per enrollment period
  • Award basis: Merit and need
  • Use period: Three months from award date to use scholarship funds

1. January 12 - February 20, 2026 | Scholarships announced after March 2 2. April 1 - May 15, 2026 | Scholarships announced after May 25 3. August 3 - September 18, 2026 | Scholarships announced after September 28
